Lady Gaga also announced her jazz shows on her Instagram with a teaser trailer that included footage from previous shows. Gaga originally started her residency in January 2019, which she performed interchangeably with her Enigma pop show, ending in May 2022. The news of her renewed jazz shows came hours after the singer paid tribute to the late jazz icon Tony Bennett. Gaga has two collaborative albums with him called Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale.

In her statement, Lady Gaga said that she will miss her friend forever. She continued saying she would miss singing, recording, and talking with him, as well as being on stage together. Bennett passed away on July 21st, at age 96. She also shared how she got to live her life in a time warp with him as if he had magical powers. She described the experience as transporting her to another era and reminiscent of modernizing music together with Bennet to give it a new life.
